AKRC staff reunited at the office for the first time since renovations and expansion!
After a long time apart, everyone came together with potluck dishes, laughter, and good conversations – reconnecting in a newly refreshed space full of community spirit and celebration.
March break Fishing tournaments
AKRC’s Education team hosted ice fishing tournaments in all member communities during the march break. Many families came out and enjoyed family time and won prizes!

Families came out to enjoy hot dogs, hot chocolate, prizes and plenty of fishy fun. Each day was filled with laughter connection, and memories made in every community visited.
Indian Residential School Gathering 2025
AKRC staff and member communities came together to discuss, learn and heal.
Many people shared stories and discussed the generational impact of IRS and how we as a people can take steps to heal and move forward while remembering those who were lost.

Through shared stories, ceremony, food, and togetherness, the event created a space of healing, remembrance, and strength – grounded in love, respect, and unity.

This meaningful gathering was rooted in love, respect, and a shared commitment to healing. Together, our member communities created a safe space for open dialogue, remembrance, and connection – fostering hope, resilience, and cultural strength for future generations.
