Restricted Fire Zone is in effect as of June 30th

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) has announced a Restricted Fire Zone is in effect as of June 30, 2021 for the Northwest region fire zones 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8.

In collaboration with this announcement, City of Kenora Fire and Emergency Services has issued a complete fire ban for the City of Kenora.

All outside burning is prohibited, including brush and grass burning, backyard fire pits, or cook stoves that use solid fuels (wood or charcoal). BBQs that use propane are permitted with extreme caution.

All burning permits are cancelled until further notice.

The City of Kenora fire ban will remain in effect until the Restricted Fire Zone is lifted by MNRF.
