Training Opportunity for Fishery Technicians

Date: February 25 2021 to February 26, 2021 Time: 9am to 4pm

The Anishinaabeg of Kabapikotawangag Resource Council Inc is seeking three qualified candidates to
work along side the AKRC Fisheries Crew as fisheries Technicians. This is a Training with Possibility of
employment

Training Will Cover:

  • Collection of biological samples (commercial)
  • Preparation of samples for AKRC ageing laboratories
  • Fish ageing
  • Data entry
  • Environmental Monitoring Field Notes
  • Analysis

Presenters:
AKRC Fisheries, Center for indigenous Environmental Research (CIER), Ontario Ministry of Natural
Resources Forestry (OMNRF)

Eligibility Criteria
• Northern Ontario secondary school graduate
• Graduate from a College or university would be considered an asset
• Good interpersonal oral, and written skills
• Good organization and management skills
• Computer literacy
• Desire to pursue natural resource as a career
