• Completion of Grade 12, and a certificate in a 1-year Administrative Course, or a combination of relevant experience and education.
  • The successful candidate must have at least 3 years’ experience in an administrative support.
  • Experience in education, electronic meeting scheduling, filing, receptionist duties, and processing mail.
  • Proficiency knowledge in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Outlook are required.
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with other support/professional staff and member-First Nations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimum supervision and in a team setting.
  • Fluency in an Indigenous language is an asset.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to achieve quality results while multitasking and experience in adapting to a changing workplace is essential.
  • The core competencies for this position include communication, cultural competence, support services, collaboration, organizational ability, and stress tolerance.


Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare correspondence, memos, and documentation using discretion and judgment, as well as proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Provide administrative support services and respond to education inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Compile and collate data using various computer programs to prepare reports for the Board, Ministry, or other external agencies as authorized by Education Support Services.
  • Maintain an effective accounting system to record and account for the receipt and disbursement of all school-based funds, including reconciliation of same as required.
  • Assist the Finance/HR Administrator with basic bookkeeping and record keeping duties when requested.
  • Responsible for meeting bookings and invoicing (monthly reports).
  • Encourage positive role modelling behaviour designed to instill pride, self-esteem, and cultural identity.
  • Other related duties assigned by Education support services
